Morning Tempest

I've wasted *soooo* much time this morning faffing around on the internet looking for these rats things *sigh* I'll maybe just have to make my own. Which is not great for a beginner!

Was talking to my mum on the phone this morning and she was telling me that her aunties used to take their ruined stocking's tops and cut them into a band to put round their head and used the band to help secure hair rolls. I need to find out more.

F'r Gawd's sakes - when am I supposed to get on with the everyday business of earning a crust?! I've got Tarot readings (already paid for!) awaiting my concentration and all I can think of is bloomin' Victory Rolls and getting a suspender belt and stockings!

Will this new burlesque obsession of mine ever end?! LOL

I was fiddling about with victory rolls last night, as soon as I took the tube out they collapsed! Damn my fine hair! Will have to stick with the tube. Had to use a bendy hair roller though cos I can't find those hair rolls anywhere (well I looked in Superdrug then gave up..)

I managed to do my rolls around a lipstick yesterday - much easier than the rollers!

I also read somebody rolled them around a blusher brush, and I once did around a pen.

I prefer just rolling them around my fingers though- but a bit hard to explain how I do it.

I've got 'stupid fingers' so doing it with something small like a lipstick befuddles me! I tried cutting a roller in half yesterday and using that but it didn't seem to work either! Also the rollers are bright blue! So not very subtle!

Hun, if you are in the UK, find a chemist, drugstore or claires accessories and buy yourself a hair donut. Go home, cut it into two pieces and trim to required length. For smaller roll, unwind donut tube and trim away excess to make smaller.

I have loads in all lengths and thicknesses and they are brilliant - and they come in different colours to compliment hair colour and not show through.
