Why did they call you that?

No idea, But seeing as this was in chester I always figured it was the idea of a woman working and daring to talk to their hubbies (an awful lot of men seem to wander around the make-up hall by themselves).
I did meet some very rude people - and some very gross ones. But keeping it for my tell-all expose book
But all in a days work Least I got to play with make up all day

Hopefully I won't be making the cross country trek much longer

Re; the orange ladies.
I find that they can be quite nice, I went round Beatties/House of Fraser last year looking for samples because I wanted to do my wedding makeup myself. And the Clinique ladies at the merry hill centre are ok, but I guess it was a bit daunting at first. They do seem to look down your noses at you but once I got speaking to one she was really helpful. I went in for some more bits on Saturday & couldn't see the ones I wanted on the shelf so I had her finding them for me

Hehe I love the phrase "orange ladies" too. I hate walking through the more expensive make-up counters in Boots trying to find the aisle with the cheaper stuff. It's like making your way through the jungle expecting wild animals (hey, tigers are orange too) to jump out on you and tear you to pieces.
I used to love "No offence" from the fast show

Well I went into Debenhams today, our best and only spot to find orange ladies int heir natural habitat, and both the Estee Lauder lady and the YSL lady were lovely!Neither of them seemed to grasp that I wanted a pretty refillable compact though, but they happily did a colour match for the powder compact and wrote down the shade for me on a little card for Rob to go back with
I got sidetracked near the jewellery on the way out though and have found myself a watch (Rob's already been in to get it and got it adjusted, but I'm not allowed it til Saturday). Its a Guess watch, quite chunky for a girly one. Silver with apink face with crystals around. Possibly a little blingy, but I really liked it when I tried it on. Was £150, got it for the bargain price of £42!
I've got it into my head I want to treat myself to a compact though now, so may see what birthday pennies I get, then again if I get loads (unlikely, I'll prob get my usual fiver from my mum!) it'll have to go towards my sewing machine

One of my favourite memories working at Benefit was a little old lady came in who was getting married that afternoon in the local registry office. She wanted to get a lipstick to treat herself to something new and was a bit nervous at talking to us (not sure whether it was the fear we'd sell her something or that she thought we'd be dismissive). We gave her a complete makeover that she loved and bag of mini samples gathered from all the counters. She even invited me to the reception at the pub
