Crocs:

yes or no?

(My daughter is trying to persuade me out of my reebok sandals because she says they look like some thing old ladies wear, into crocs, but I can't decide if the burlesque/vintage style police would be on my case even faster if I succumb)

Advice please....

And if not, what can I wear on the beach that are more burlesque but still comfy if we go for a walk?

erm im not sure i like either, but then again i dont have any advice on what you could wear instead! what about some cheap ballet pumps?

Yeah I just think they might be ruined on a beach....

I just keep hearing how comfy they are. I wonder if I could customise them....make them spangly, sparkly......?

Crocs are hideous and that's all there is to it! And as for customising them, well, I've seen it done (you can buy little sparkly things that snap into the holes) and they look like a kid's been allowed to run riot with their art set. Now I used to consciously dress like a seven year old when I was ten years too old for it, but even then I wouldn't have gone near Crocs!

What do I wear on the beach then?

I wonder if you can get industrial strength glitzy flip-flops......?

Have to admit, I do have a pair of pink crocs.
I have a very ambivilant relationship with them.
In fact, I keep them out in the garden.
They are ugly, but great for gardening.
Dont be fooled into wearing them on the beach though!
You either get stones or sand come in through the holes.
Sand I can cope with, stones hurt the soles of my feet.
Then I end up walking along, trying to shake them out and looking even sillier than normal!

DONT DO IT!!!

I don't like crocs at all. I've read that they are really uncomfortable aswell.

I'm not any help with beachy shoes. A couple of years ago I went to the beach in Exmouth in black T-Shirt, black jeans and Converse. I did get some funny looks
