Default Better skin in a week - is it possible?

Please dont say no.

I've got a black tie do to go to on Friday night but my acne has decided to return and I'm fed up with my open pores. I just know everyone will be taking photos so has anyone got any wonderful ideas about getting skin better and rid of acne in less than a week?

Drink lots of water

When I changed my cleansing routine to the Clinique 3 step system (some people love it, others hate it) I do think that improved my skin. I've never suffered badly from breakouts but I got them even less often & I really saw a difference in the brightness & softness of my skin

If you can afford it then go get a professional facial. That should help clear out your pores. The problem with a week is that you run the risk of triggering a bad reaction by using new products....but is there is a Lush near you they do a garlic face mask (yes it stinks) called cosmetic warrior which is very good.

Exfoliate, pop on the mask (Or another facemask) and then gently wash off.
Don't be tempted to exfoliate again until Friday as the more you scrub the more damage you can do. Use a moisturiser that is designed to help with spots (if you need a more moisturising one then only on troubled areas and your normal one elsewhere)

Don't touch your face during the week. It'll only transfer more oil and dirt around the skin. Gently cleanse twice a day. being harsh at this point will probably only cause more flare ups.

I like the clinique pore minimiser throughout the day (my pores are dreadful), use a make up base for oily skin as this will absorb oil and protect pores from getting more gunk trapped inside. Try dermalogica for their overnight spot treatment too. :-)

Yeah the pore minimiser (instant perfector) is amazing! I've tried the serum and that's not that good though.

I think a lot comes from within, if you can stand it drink water and more water , flush your system out! and if you can brave it go make up free for the rest of the week, i get break outs and that generaly works for me, and a good cleansing routine nightly.
enjoy your night x

Try and chill out about it stress will make it worse. Drink lots of water and try and eat lots of fruit and veg. Also I use dermalogica spot blaster the have a fancy name for it but it amazing its expensive but will last for years. I also agree with what everyone says wash and cleans your face and also getting a few early nights help to.
Hope you have a fab time.

Only when it comes to stuff I don't need too, But thanks hon It like a make up agony aunt is lodged in the back of my brain ...and won't go away....

The other thing is when you put on your make up (although like darkimages said if you can so without that's a good thing) use a foundation brush and a concealer brush to put on your make up - and clean them between uses if it's a really bad break out you want to make sure that you're not spreading around bacteria and debris on your skin.

Might sound weird - but also wipe telephone handset speakers or anything else that touches your face on a regular basis. If they're on your forehead it might be your fringe aggrivating them so clip it back for a while and don't use product on it for a bit.

Thank you all so much. I'm going to handcuff my hands to my chair all week I think to stop me touching my face. That's going to be a hard one to explain to my boss though when he wants to know why I cant get in for my shift.

find a salon that does glycolic or alpha-beta peels and book a 30-min facial. bascially this facial really penetrates and repairs the skin. the other tips are probably better for a long term approach, but as you want instant results, then this facial might be the best option.
