Hey sweeties
Im brand-spankin-new but thought I would throw in my 2 cents here as I have just undergone this change myself. I had been dying my light brown hair black for about two years then decided I wanted to go platinum blonde. I went to the hairdressers to have it stripped but it didnt lift the colour all that much. She then bleached it twice and toned it until it was a horribly unnattractive orangy yellow. I had loads of it cut off so that I wouldnt end up with a frizzy damaged mane and had treatments on it to restore the condition. About two weeks later I took out the home bleaching kit and bleached it to the palest blonde (probs not the healthiest thing for my hair but oh well). I think if i hadnt had most of it cut off first the most of it would have been a frazzled mess. Im finally happy with it and its not in bad condition at all (I do try to take care of it these days) but I have gone from my shiny black waist-length hair to my cute new marilyn-esque blonde bob. So it can be done, but its probably best to let a hairdresser strip the most of the colour out for you, and condition it lots and lots.

(I am no professional or anything, just a girl who likes to change her hair alot)

Izzy x
