Default The right size tassle!

I've been having a crafty old time making pasties, my main problem is finding the right size tassle. I can get the right length for me, but they seem to be too chunky and i end up having to take them apart and strip them down. It's a right kerfuffle. Anyone know of anywhere i could just get some decent tassles. Are they so elusive?? Even the stuff to make the tassle from would be a start, but what is it? Polyester cord? Aargh. Suggestions welcome...

Ahhh tell me about it!!!! I've had this same problem as I make and sell pasties myself I don't make my own as it takes too long to make the pasties anyway let alone with tassel making too. I ended up getting them from and American company that are really cheap and do most colours too, trimandtassels.com i think they're called but you have to wait a while to. Good luck! Since most of my pasties are rhinestones, I also make the tassles from glass/crystal bicone beads in 4mm and 6mm. I string about 12-15 4mm beads on a silky nylon thread and finish the ends with one 6mm or 8mm bead. I've found those polyester/nylon/rayon tassels at the craft/fabric store by the window treatment department.

Had the same problem with finding the right size tassels (and they're all crazy expensive here, too!).

I make the tassels myself from rayon chainette (slinky yarn stuff) which I got from Chainette Yarn 'cos I couldn't find it locally.

Another option, which I saw mentioned somewhere was to make the tassels out of sections of fringing. I guess you'd cut a few cm, roll it up and sew it together so it would stay.

Default Tassles!

Thanks for your suggestions, Voodoo Betty (nice work by the way!) I will give the american site a go perhaps, they look near to what I'm after.

Like the idea, with the beads-do they make the pasties heavy? I like to twirl. and the thought of losing my nip coverage-aargh!

Will probably have a go at making some too though, just for the hell of it....

The beads don't make them that heavy. I make no more than 5 tassels.

I bought some tassels from a haberdashery stall in a local market she had a few different thickness's and she also had some glitter tassels - i bought some silver ones for my medical nipple tassels which turned out very well.
