Satin on satin?
If I had a satin corset AND satin underwear, would that look a bit bad? Especially teamed with PVC gloves?
Would it be better to get PVC underwear? Or leather? How about lace (but not girly lace)? Frills are not an option.
Help!

I think if you had a good match for the satin then it wouldn't look bad - if the satin's the same colour that is. If the satin's a different colour then I think it'd look ok. I dunno, I reckon PVC wouldn't look so good but lace would!
Miss Selfridge (Bizzarely) have a really nice pair of black satin knickers that tie into a bow at the back! lol.

When I wear PVC I wear all pvc.
That's the one thing that I don't mix with other things. (With exception for my latex cat suit with a PVC underbust over the top).
Generally if it's just your gloves that are going to be PVC I'd forget them entirley so as not to clash though that could just be me.

Nothing wrong with satin on satin at all. Too many textures is running the risk of looking messy. I agree with Sinthia on the PVC though - too much of a clash

I think satin works well for a full costume. I've seen plenty of performers work with such attire. If working with a classic fabric, such as satin, I'd be cautious of teaming it with something as bold as PVC. That's not to say it will never work, just that I think it requires thought and contemplation, rather than pairing up contrasting fabrics just because they are to hand.
If all else fails, go with your gut instinct! Intuition is a darn useful tool!

I seem to be in the minority, but I would go for contrast over *almost* matching. If they're the same fabric, yes, by all means go with the satin garments together, but if they don't quite match I think PVC would be better. I'd avoid adding lace into the mix, though.
I love contrasting textures, like my beloved tweed and satin corset, but maybe I'm just odd.
