Corsets With Zips!!!!
Does anyone know of any sites where I can get corsets with zips up the front for easy removal? I have got three from Oh Cheri lingerie in America ( Oh Cheri! Sexy Lingerie for Every Body. Buy Lingerie Small to 6X) which arrived really quickly and were absolutely excellent value (even with the shipping) but I wondered if anyone knew of anywhere else?
Thanks peeps
Brazen

Sorry, Fleur. I've been doing exactly the same thing since she announced her closing down sale. That's why I had the link so handy.
Aren't the spats rather lovely? Oh how I love spats!

!!! Zips are more problematic than most other fastening devices !!!
Avoid zips if you are stripping off. Avoid zips in corsets.
Professional, boned corsets require busks with appropriate stable fastenings which do not yeild in the way a zip will.

Thanks for pointing that out Kittie - zips seem really practical and quick, until I remember that I've been stuck more firmly and inescapably by zips than corset laces ...

Yeah, a zip won't stand up to much tightening in a corset - they're just not strong enough, which I believe is one of the reasons that the lady who makes the corsets I linked to specifically says they're not for tightlacing.
Also, because zips seem easier to open than busks I think people have a tendency to try to open them without loosening the laces first, which is bound to cause problems. Zips just don't work properly if they're under too much stress.
Having said that, the "corsets" on the site the OP linked to are more of the lingerie bustier type garment, so the zips are unlikely to specifically be a weak spot.

Thanks ladies for pointing that out about the zips - i must admit I havent been "stuck" in one yet during a routine and i always thought zips would be far more practical and quick (just thinking there how long it takes me to get into a front busk opening corset let alone get out of one!!!!!) but i understand what you are saying about if the zip gets stuck you aint gonna get out, no matter what. Thanks for the link to that site though - they have some lovely things!!!!!
Thanks again for your advice

Getting out is much quicker than getting in, I find. Plus it helps to not tighten it up as much as you would if you were wearing it normally. Keeping it looser has the double advantages of making it quicker and easier to get out of (less loosening of laces required), and minimising the marks left on your tummy by the bones and seams. Or a fashion corset with hooks and eyes can work, because you don't have to loosen the laces at all to get out of one of those - but they just don't have quite the same look ...
