Default Geisha make up

Hi all
I need help I started doing my new Geisha routine this weekend and I used Grmas white cake make up as my base its a water based one. The first night I put it on my skin itched a bit and red marks appeared on my top lip and cheeks and the second night my whole face started to burn. My skin is really dry and sore today. I was wondering if anyone else could recommend a better make up maybe a cream one.
Thanks
Diva x

Diva! I can tell you all i know..... ok, well for my geisha make up, i used the traditional method, but its hard to get the balance just right : Rice Powder and Water, you can get it in any place that sells oriental food, and definatly in Manchesters China Town.
If this doesnt work....
Stargazer White foundation cream and Clear Powder, theyre about £4.00 Each and available online or in Afflecks

Alternativly (and this is what i use for performing makeup) Get some talcom powder, and mix it with some moistureiser its great!!! and as for really really dark eyeliner, i find that a cheap liquid liner works wonders... and if not- Star gazer once again i hope that helps hunny xx

also kryolan make up is very good good for this. It can be bought in quite a few places online and its what they use in theatres and stuff, plus it lasts for around 50years which is awesome.

It doesn't irritate your skin or anything like that.

Just google it and some stage shops will sell it.

xx

It sounds like your reaction was allergic more than anything. Regardless, these products can be tough on anyone's skin, so I wonder: how are you prepping your face before application???

Well the first time I used the stuff was a couple of weeks ago and I put it on over my foundation. Now I did not do that on Friday and maybe thats why but I did on Saturday. There is no way I am ever using that again my skin is so sore.

i would always advise testing stuff as skin can be a funny old thing... and always o your hand or the inside of your arm cos at least then theres lest chance of looking like a tomato or having your face dry out

Hi honey
I did I put it on the inside of my arm and as I said I wore it for another performance a couple of weeks ago with no problems. Not really sure what changed other than I put it on on-top of just moisturizer and not my foundation as well.
