Hello,

This probably seems like a totally lame thing to be asking on a burlesque forum but hey, here goes...

Do any of you know where to get ethically made clothes and animal friendly makeup?

If you're in the UK, my friend sent me this link. Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare - Welcome to our UK website or Infinity Foods has an ethical range of cosmetics from various companies.

Also, Lush is brilliant for soap, shower gel, shampoo, make-up remover, lip balm, hair dye.

Hope this helps! I try to by natural and ethical where possible but it can be tricky and expensive. If you have any luck finding stagey make-up & foundation let me know! I would be forever grateful!

I'd love to know more about this as well. It's all a bit pricey though, which makes it even harder.

Good luck in hunting.

For clothes figleaves do an ethical range - it's environmentally friendly and is called greenleaves: http://www.figleaves.com/uk/ts_hf.as...-_-Greenleaves

It's only really underwear and sleepwear but it's a start. I did find somewhere else that did ethical clothes but I can't remember where. I'll try and find the name for you.

As for make-up B Never to Busy to Be Beautiful (the make-up side of Lush) are pretty good.

Yeah I've used the cream eyeshadows. They're very good. I had a makeover with B makeup at a Lush store too and they used an eyeshadow, blusher, lipgloss and glitter on me - all of which looked very nice. I just don't have the money to buy all of them, eventually I will.

If you can't find something that you want in a store - secondhand might be a good option - the money in most secondhand shops goes to charity so you are not supporting any unethical business practices.

Take a peek at this thread: http://www.ministryofburlesque.com/b...cosmetics.html

Furthermore, I champion American Apparel for their ethical clothing range.

If you're feeling rich, check out this brand for glamourous ethical lingerie: Welcome - Eco-Boudoir

Ooh that's a great help! I've just got a booklet through the post that details all the companies that do and don't (including ingredients) test on animals - so I'll let you all know about companies for makeup if you like x
