Ballet Shops in London?
Miss Diamond Blush's post reminded me...
I need to get a new pair of starter pointes (I never got good enough to pirouette etc. en pointe, and I'm a little rusty). Can anyone recommend a friendly dance-supplies shop in London?
I'm off to Covent Garden tomorrow, so anywhere local-ish would be ideal.

I would go to them all... try on different makes then decide.
There are a number, althought 2 of my favouties have now closed :-(.
Freed
94 St Martin's Lane
London
WC2N 4AT
(Freed don't like my feet, both ballet or tap shoes!)
Dancia
187 Drury Lane
London
WC2B 5QD
(good selection of different makes of shoe)
Sansha Covent Garden
175 Drury Lane, Covent Garden
London WC2B 5QF
(not tried these but you can get them in different colours!)
Bloch London Flag Ship Store
35, Drury Lane, London, WC2B 5RH
(Just bought a pair of Bloch pointes! There selection is very good and they are very helpful!)
Have fun!

You, my lovely, are just the knowledge bank that I required. I'll have a look around tomorrow!
My old pointes are by Freed, so I might start there and bring my battered old pair with me.

Have fun! The shops should be quiet which will be good to get to try different shoes on! Saturday's re a nightmare.
Would be a good idea to take your old shoes with you.... always get asked question about mine and never know the answers!
I swopped from gamba to bloch a few months ago and ended up taking my new shoes to show my ballet teacher. She said they were a very good fit! Would def recommend you go to there shop as well as Freed.

Thanks for the tip. I performed ballet for 10 years, so am quite aware of the need to both warm up properly and build myself up to the really hard stuff x
