Are you using a suspender belt with them? Stockings need to be held up with a suspender belt or garter belt as we call them here in the US. If you don't want to use a garter belt, try wearing hold-ups or thigh-highs.

I love hold ups but cant cet along with the rubbery strip on the inside thats meant to keep them up, especially if you are performing and sweating a fair bit.

I'm 5ft and have found some hold ups from la senza that are quite good for about £8

Are you wearing old fashioned nylon stockings or more modern ones with lycra in? And how many straps does your suspender belt have? With nylon stockings I use a belt with a minimum of 6 straps, recently I've been doing the same with modern stockings too because they feel so much more secure. French stockings are made quite short (they're designed to end just above the knee but I buy a size up so they end on my thigh) so they may suit you better - try Cervin. They're available on Sheer Nylons, Stockings Direct and several other websites.

I too am a short girlie and have all sorts of problems with hosery! Have a look at the What Katie Did website as they have a few vintage styled stockings designed specifically for short, slim women.

Also, for more modern options, I find that the size 'Small' stockings from Marks and Spencer (yes I shop there!) and Levante are good length wise.

I'm not a small gal - almost 6 foot but I had a different kind of problem - stockings that barely went above my knee! until I found the lovely ones on what katie did. No further problems (except thinking that they might fall down, which they didn't!)

I'm 5'2, I don't have a problem with stockings falling down (I usually buy size medium, I'm size 12 with quite big legs), but I haven't so far found a suspender belt that shortens quite enough for my liking! I usually wear quite short dresses (my shape just doesn't suit longer ones, no matter how hard I look!) so I end up a bit paranoid about the tops of my stockings showing! I'm ok if I buy ones with a plain/narrow top, but can't really wear anything with a deeper lacey top, which is a shame.

Hey ladies!!

I an well under 5' and have all the same problems!

What Katie Did are excellent - look for the styles that are designed for girls starting under 5' and also - as has been said - for 'french style' or french fit' which are shorter in length so are better for petite lasses!

I love Agent Provocateur for lingerie - and i know they are heart-stoppingly expensive - but the joy is that garments can be repaired and altered for free through their boutiques! This means being able to have garter/suspender belts and/or roll-ons adjusted to have shorter stocking snaps - a god-send

You could maybe find somewhere with a seamstress service to see if the same could be done for yours? Some dry-cleaners might be able to help, or a tailoring shop?

I have only bought stockings from M&S once - they went through at the toes on both stockings the first time i wore them and would not take a second chance. I wore them the day after purchase and returned them the day after that!
The same thing happened this week with a Pretty Polly pair from Boots - exactly the same scenario, so back they went! Was very pleased to get refunds both times.

From now on it will only be what katie did and agent provocateur for me, unless i can track down the elusive 'extra small' size Wolfords proclaim to do on the back of packets, but i've never actually seen them in shops...
