im looking to purchase my first proper fitted boned corset. i would like some advice on where to buy it from and the price range? thay seem to vary from £50 to £500 any help and advice would be great. i live in the cardiff area so if there is any thing near me, i would love to know

Well it all depends what you're after. An obvious but true answer

What's your budget? Under £110 ish pounds, you're looking at an 'off the peg' corset, ie. its not made to measure for you. This isn't always a bad thing, but you won't get that 'perfect' fit. My first corset was a black leather underbust from alter ego erotics on ebay - An American lady who sells only leather corsets, work out fantastic value with the exchange rate and fair posting. I still have ti and its still lovely.

My newest and most expensive was made to measure by Elle Corsets. She lives to far for me to visit so made several toiles (canvas mock ups), took lots of photos and lots of chats to ensure the perfect fit, and I'm in love

To be honest its not really til you get that first corset that you know what you want out of your dream corset, so I'd suggest going for a more budget option and seeing what you wish it had or where you wish it fitted better. In my case it was gored/shaped hips, but I didn't know this til I'd worn my firs for a while

I bought my first corset when i was in London from The Fairy Goth Mother. It was on sale and i still have it to this day in excellent condition. I got it for 70 pounds. You can order them online.

My first corset was also Fairy Goth Mother. It was £155 and it's my pride and joy

My first corset was from Transformation. It cost £125, off the peg.
If I'd been having one made, I'd have gone for a little more length, and a bit narrower on the hips.
My second corset was from eBay; A Vollers 1101 in red brocade. I think I paid about £85 for it which, to me, was a bargain.

A new shop has just opened near me, Nara Kahkonen, and I've been told they can make corsets to individual measurements. I'll check them out if I can ever catch them open.
Beatrice Von Tresckow also has a shop nearby. She doesn't do much in the way of corsets, but her clothing designs are absolutely stunning.
