Talking What to wear??

Hi  , new here, and tonight me & hubby are off to Vaudeville Cabaret Club at Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Really looking forward to it, we love burlesque, saw Immodesty Blaize in London a couple of years ago, fab show.

Now i dont have anything to wear . i shll be wearing just a vest style top and trousers, high heels and a cheeky wee scarf, tied french style.

But what items should i start to incorprate into my wardrobe, not wanting to go out in corsets really, love them idoors but not outside. So am looking for some little tips and hints.

Ta

Ooooh you lucky thing, getting to see Immodesty!

As for wardrobe, the biggest tip I can give you is to get a pencil skirt. They're easy to wear, always look stylish, and give you that bit of glamour every day - and if you get a black one it'll go with everything. You can team it with cute little t shirts, satiny blouses, peasant tops, or anything you like really, and if you wore one with the scarf and heels you mentioned it would look tres bon!

Oh, and red lipstick - find a good one that suits you and any outfit you choose to wear will be instantly glammed up!

Accessories are always good too. The scarf sounds fab, but think about your head - a fascinator, a hair flower, a spangly doo-dah perhaps!

I'd agree with the previous messages but add in a neutral pencil skirt as well as a black (they're surprisingly flexible) and at least one vintage-style dress. Everyone has their own style though and it can take a while to find it.

Hmmmmmmm, unfortunately I am not a wee teeny weeny, i am tall and a size 18 so possibly wont look right in a pencil skirt

I love sparkly hair stuff, infact i am looking for a fascinator to wear to a freinds wedding

I looked damned good in a pencil skirt at a size 18; I'm sure you will too. If you're feeling a bit nervous about lumps and bumps get a longline girdle to smooth from bra to bum (and to attach some gorgeous stockings to too).

If your not keen on wearing corsets outside im would highly recommend the wide waist belts, nip you in without being restrictive, and theres so many out at the mo with lovely detailed buckles and clips they can really turn a plain outfit into a stunning outfit!

The only problem with wide belts is that they can leave splurging on either side if you don't have a foundation (or outerwear that doesn't stretch) underneath. Maybe that's just me, but without that a wide belt actually makes me look considerably fatter.
