waist training.
Hi,has anyone ever done this? Or is currently doing it? I want to know who I should go to to get a custom made corset,as I would be wearing it for most of the day every day! What are your experiences of waist training?kisses.xxxxx

I posted a thread about this a few weeks ago in the fashion and make up forum
there's loads of stuff on there from people being helpful.
Also check out the guide on corset-heaven and try and get in touch with Dark Angel who is making me a waist-training corset
Have fun :hug:Nouveau Showgirl

Hi,
I have been waist training (coset training, depending on your preferred definition) for about 4 years. I wear a corset all day every day and love every moment of it. However, please do not underestimate the impact that this can have on you! It can be uncomfortable, and it can make every day tasks that little bit harder!
You also need to be prepared for the inane responses from other people! (like can you breathe? No, thats how I am still walking and talking...) Some of itis concern from friends some is general disapproval. I have not found anything that I can't do in a corset... with a little lateral thinking.
It can be hard work as well. I currently lace into a 20" corset, having started in a 24" 4 years ago. I take around 4 or 5" off my waist (approximately, I don't currently have an unlaced measurement)
I have always used Vollers corsets, they are excellent quality, long lasting and very very beautful. I have also found them to be really helpful whenever I have contacted them.
Please please please be aware that there are loads of people out there who call them selves experts with no training and very little experience . I have never had a problem with lacing, but it can aggravate certain medical conditions and it is important not to rush any of it. Comfort is more important!
If you have any questions please feel free to ask and although I am not an expert in any way I will happily help if I can.

I've been wearing vollers corsets for 10 years (on and off, not permanently!) I had a break of any corset wearing for 5 years when I put on weight and had no self-confidence. Anyway, I've only recently found out that they're not held in such high regard as I thought.

I've laced on and off for about 10 years now (at first by accident), and at my smallest still lace to 17"... There's going to be an article on tight-lacing in the new issue of Bizarre with lots of information (I hope!)
But I'd say that Vollers aren't for everyone: for a reduction as big as mine (6") it would crush my lower ribs (I did crack one once when it wasn't even tight) so I need a custom fit as you can choose how much extra give you want up top or how much you want your abdomen supported. A friend of mine has just started making some for me and I'd highly reccommend her as as well as being a tight-lacer herself (16-17") she does fabulous corselettes/girdles with powermesh that give a more severe reduction, dramatic silhouette and are comfy enough to be worn every day if you like! You can find her here: Sian Hoffman - MySpace.com - www.myspace.com/97937746
You can also get results with a snug wide leather belt: as it gets looser, just make another hole or get a new one! It's cheaper to do
