    Default Sunburn Issue!

Help! I caught what little sun we have in this country and now have very unsightly strap marks and sunburn on my arms, back, shoulders, leg and stomach! :wallbash:

Apart from never going out in the sun again, what can I do to avoid this in future and how can I speed up the fading process so I can be back to my porcelain perfection once more

How do you ladies avoid this happening? I mean, I like the sunshine (when we ever get it!) and don't want to lurk in dark rooms for the rest of my life!

    Thank You

Simple - when I go out in the sun I put sun cream on any exposed skin. On a day like today (where I am anyway) I would simply walk in shade or wear something that covered my shoulders. Just be sensible and remember that even a little bit of sun can burn ...

Ha ha, I wasn't the only one that got caught out at the weekend then. I'm normally so careful but we were out and about all weekend and the weather kept changing. I look like a zebra from my different tops, tanned up to t-shirt line on arms, then white, then a triangle of red on shoulders, then white, then tanned at neck. I look awful!

    Hi hon.
Use a high factor body lotion and MAC Base SPF50. Every morning. If your going to be out side pop a bottle of spf suncream in your bag. Top up as often as possible.

And to reduce redness the only thing I can think of is a cool bath and aftersun or cocoa butter. Cover up as much as you can. Sunburn is damage and you don't want to make it worse.
If your heading out somewhere and need to disguise it then a yellow based body powder or try some sally hansen leg spray.

Tee hee I have sort of the opposite problem.
You see I wanted pale skin but if I even go near the sun (and Im starting to fear maybe even my desk light) I go brown. I'm half Spanish and I want to be pale!
I am at the moment thank goodness but now the sun is here I dread the worst!
EEEK noooooo (in the style of any wich) 'Im browning, Im browning!!!'
But yes....I'm panicking about being the color of a well cooked chip.

While we're on the subject...is there any such thing as a sun block that doesn't make you sticky/shiny for the whole day? I don't want to burn but I'd rather not go out looking like I've had my face in a frying pan!

Being a redhead, I look at the sun and burn. I wear factor 60 (you should wear sunscreen every single day but I don't have the discipline!) and top up regularly throughout the day xxx

    I hate the sun!

Well, not the sun as such, more the heat but the two are sort of a package.

So I solve this by staying inside/ never leaving the shade unless necessary. Which does mean I forget sun cream and manage to get burnt at every festival I go to despite my claims that "I don't get tanned".

Of course that's because I'm never in the sun. I must try and remember that for Reading!

I wore sunscreen every day this year... expect for the one day it mattered, and I burned horribly. Aloe vera and lavender are good for burns if you need some relief ^-^

I'm just trying to make sure that I take sun cream with me wherever I go and cover up my shoulders - I even bought a parasol Boots do a special lotion for your face which is meant to be milder/less greasy, I'm gonna try that I think. xx
