    Default Proud of my Creation!

Months ago I set myself a task to create a period style gown that wouldnt cost me the earth (after several failed eBay bids!).

It started off with sourcing a corset that would be steel boned, not expensive but still fancy - I found one for something like £15 on eBay.
Next was the undergarment to match - I found a pair of silk bloomers for £8.
    Then I got a 4 hoop crinoline for £10.
The next bit was finding a heavy pale gold material that would be suitable and not cost a fortune. I manged to get 3 metres of pale gold satin for £3 a metre. I bought, for bargain prices, all the accessories.

It all arrived, and I got sewing (by hand - no machine) and created this :

All done on a shoe string!

It wasnt till I got the images back that it dawned on me I'd created Belles dress from Beauty and the Beast!
And now I have a queue of folk wanting to use it for shoots!

Thankyou! My fingers were particularly raw afterwards but it was worth it! Next treat to self - a sewing machine!

That looks absolutely beautiful. It might be worth you making more and selling them on for a profit.

    I love it!
I had a similar idea with a corset i have, i plan on finding a matching cream brocade fabric to make a hooped skirt and sleeves in a rococo style.
Yours looks great, and is really stunning against that backdrop!
