Sorry. But you are using copyrighted images on your website. For example

Red Satin Lace Corset Tulle Skirt
    Trashy.com - Lingerie - panties - hosiery - swimsuit models - sexy lingerie - Product

We've seen this before in the last few weeks and it would appear that suppliers are giving sellers inaccurate and copyrighted images to use to sell their good. I suggest you investigate this immediately, as you could get in fairly serious trouble with this.

ugh this is so irritating - do these people think we're daft? you don't get a trashy outfit for £25. I'm lucky enough to own some trashy from the store and this just makes a mockery.

Hi, I am sorry this offended you, firstly I am not passing it off as a Trashy costume, secondly I was unaware this was a Trashy image. I think you will agree that this picture is the only one that is apparently copyright . The rest of the pictures are given to me by reputable suppliers. It might have been nice if you just replied to my thread letting me know this without making me feel like an unprofessional counterfeiter.

Erm, sorry to go on, but there are a few more images that are copyrighted.
Pale Pink Satin Black Lace Corset Mini Skirt
    Trashy.com - Lingerie - panties - hosiery - swimsuit models - sexy lingerie - Product

It would probably be wise, though time consuming to check all the images from those suppliers. Another seller who came on here a few weeks ago had the same problem with the same images.

I think all that can be said is that anyone setting up a business retailing corsets and other items from these suppliers (mostly Indian, Chinese, and I've read Brazil is getting in on it now too) must do some serious research before they use the pics their suppliers are sending them. For your own sakes familiarise yourselves with the established online retailers selling the originals. Check Trashy, Fairygothmother etc. To be safe, just photograph the actual stuff yourselves!

There's a lot of controversy surrounding these suppliers and some disreputable sellers being identified with them. Sellers who are lying about their items, claiming them to be handmade by them, selling Punk69 corsets on Etsy under false pretences, constantly and knowingly using stolen images and not fulfilling orders. I have no doubt some people are falling into this trap unwittingly and have the intention of setting up perfectly legitimate businesses. But if they want to build up trust then it would surely pay to do the research and avoid being tarred with the same brush as the crooks out there.

I think Crikey said it best. Polite but informative.
This person might have been genuinely misled with the images so it's not really fair to dive at her in such a negative way. Saying that, she may be well aware the images are copyrighted. But even so, don't just assume.

Hi, I did exactly the same thing and had no idea the pictures were copyrighted and had never heard of some of the original suppliers either. In fact there are probably still some images on my site that I don't know about yet. I contacted all of the suppliers I could think of and asked them to let me know if I had any of their images on my site and they were most obliging in fact I will soon be reselling for some of them so worth getting in touch. We all want to earn a crust and it's difficult when you are first starting out so kind advice is worth listening too!

Most of us are in the same business and it's good that we can all help each other (life is too short to have enemies). Good luck with your business and your website looks fab.

All I can stress again is research, research, research. A few simple google hunts for the big off-the-rack sellers will show you where the pictures originate from. And another couple of google searches will flag up a hell of a lot of issues and dodgy dealings with these cheap suppliers. Google Punk69 for instance, the big Indian wholesale manufacturer who supply most cheap 'corset' outlets, and you'll find numerous complaints, lies and questionable dealings. If you don't do that reseach you're leaving yourselves wide open.

Any of us who make real corsets (sorry, but I can barely bring myself to refer to the cheap far east offerings as corsets, they're bustiers really) have had the emails from such suppliers offering us these items at dirt cheap prices to resell. So we know what the score is. But I'm afraid you'll have to excuse us getting angry, as the suppliers calling them corsets feels quite insulting to those of us who slog over the real deal. And seeing pictures of those slogged over pieces used to punt cheap, low quality copies is,well... anger doesn't come close to covering it. I'm sure you can imagine.

Many of us are one-woman (sometimes man) designer-makers. We can't afford to have our reputations affected by a sub-standard item being sold in our name. But regular corset-shoppers do recognise these pictures, even if the re-sellers don't and many are naive enought to assume that's what they'll be getting at a bargain price. Of course there are no real bargains - not like that! Believe me, there is NOT a huge margin on a £200, even a £300 corset. The maker is barely turning a profit. They will never ever be sold for £30.

I do believe that some of you re-sellers are being misled, so I'm not writing all this to criticise but to try and explain where the anger comes from. And of course not all re-sellers are innocent. I could name a few for instance (I won't here of course) who are re-selling Punk69 'corsets' on Etsy and deliberately misleading their customers into thinking they're handmade - as everything on Etsy is supposed to be. I could name others who have websites selling these same 'corsets' but who take money and never deliver. So yes, if you're being misled then fair enough but it's your responsibility to gather the knowledge to prevent these things happening.
