1940's Musical Revue - Happy As A Sandbag

I have been very busy making costumes for and rehearsing for the show "Happy As A Sandbag" which runs from this Wednesday 3rd to Saturday 6th September.

If you love the 1940's you will absolutely love this show - There's everything from the Andrew Sisters to Jane from the Daily Mirror (a small element of Burlesque - when, typically, all her clothes fall off and she is left in her "What Katie Did" smalls and bursts into the song "Stuff Like That There" with her troupe of NAAFI girls!!!) Also, fantastic musical numbers like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Sing Sing Sing, Room 504, Chatanooga Choo Choo and much more - all accompanied by Swing Unlimited Big Band!!!

I know the tickets are selling really well but ff you have a spare evening or Thursday/Saturday afternoon this week I would definately recommend this one!!!

Opening night was last night, the whole cast was picked up and driven through Christchurch in 1940's military vehicles, there were jeeps, troupe carrier, motorcycles... it was bloody fantastic!!! The show went really well, was very emotional as there were so many old boys in the audience who experienced the real thing!!! The rest of the week is pretty much sold out, I think there are only tickets left for the Saturday matinee.

If any of you are going, do let me know so that we can meet up for a drink afterwards.

Let me tell you, Annie was fabulous, as was the rest of the cast. And Annie, if there is a clip of that hilarious factory sketch, you must post it.
