Thumbs up 1940's shows?

Hello there

I was just wandering if anyone attends 1940's weekends, I ask because there are a few in my area that I attend and some very well turned out ladies and Gents keep popping up IS IT YOU ?

I would also like to say that you can get some great deals on vintage clothes at some of these events. Music is a bit drab though or not if you are a fan of George formby and Glen Miller.

Hi Golden Delicious

Depends how big an event you want.

There is a nice show with some stalls next weekend at the Crich tramway museum Derbyshire. Bit of info on there site for booking in. HALF PRICE if you say your an RE -Enactor like me. There is another later on in the year also.

Edwardian/ victorian Weekend Crich tramway museum. CORSETS and the like.

There are a number of dances you can attend in period dress. Drag your partner along He could be a squaddie or a G.I.

Peak rail Derbyshire yet more stalls with some good items at good prices.
Big battle re enactment as well lots of shouting and Pyrotechnics.

Dance there saturday night.

Rufford Country park wartime weekend
Dance in evening

Clumber Park wartime weekend. Possible Dance not sure shall have to check.

Bigger events like the Glen miller festival there's lots of Dancing for three days or something like that. Loads of fun. Even more stalls.

Militaria fairs such as Malvern Three county showground are great for the Vintage clothing NOT All military some very good Civi items on sale all weekend.

I notice on my rounds that the Civi vintage Men and women always get lots of attention from photographers, far more than the blokes dressed in Military uniform.

I must admit that i attend more wartime weekend shows then Burlesque but they could so easily merge into something spectacular.

If any of these tickle your fancy let me know and i shall give you as much info as i can.

Try MILWEB.NET 1940's events listed there for all over the world
