I noticed on another thread candy Jane has listed all the regular burlesque nights in Manchester could anyone do the same for Nottingham please?

The only regular night that I know of in Nottingham is the Pitty Patt Club that's held at the Social every month or so. The De Ville Dolls (the troupe I belong to) organise it. We have bands and other burlesque performers from across the country as well as performing ourselves of course!

There's a night on at the Geisha Bar in the Lace Market on July 2nd. I don't think they're starting up the "Flirt" nights there again but I might be wrong. I think there may be another night starting up soon that's more geared towards Cabaret but I'm not sure when this starts.

how come the Flirt events stopped happening?

I have no idea actually. Ask the Mobfather, maybe he knows. I'm sure it was a MoB event. I think the Geisha Bar came under new management a while back, maybe that had something to do with it.

All of the Pitty Patt club nights will be advertised on this forum by either Emerald Ace or myself, it'd be lovely if you could come to the next one. Make sure you find me to say hello!

don't know much about Flirt however for more burlesque happenings....
The Maze (on mansfield road) is holding a german style cabaret night this saturday with, if i'm not mistaken (correct me if i'm wrong), Vicki Butterfly and Eva Braun performing burlesque...
Also on 16th of September the Shangi La Lounge opens at the Rescue Rooms (i'm performing at that one!) this is i think more in the direction of alternative cabaret and burlesque

From what i understand both of these are hoping to be regular nights (although i'm not sure exactly what is planned for either in the future)... hope this helps though!

We used to run Flirt at the Geisha Bar in Nottingham but stopped it last year after the bar owners decided on an ill-advised summer ball and decided to promote it themselves.

Despite our advice, they spent far too much on flyers (the design bill itself was apparently over £1000) and wording like 'dinner includes a Knickerbocker Glory like your gran used to make' predictably put off the punters like we told them it would.

It was a shame because we used to love coming up to Nottingham, however when we heard the news about Geisha losing money and being sold on, it didn't surprise us one iota.
