Hi Kids, Just want to say what a great night I had last night at the PPC, Good room, good crowd and an eclectic mix of Burlesque performers.
The compere introduced the Deville Dolls first who did a short cute skit holding up cards emblazened with the names of the attractions we were about to see( Iliked this touch ) then compere introduced the Beautiful Millie Dollar with her Powder room routine which really whipped the crowd up ready for the onslaught of Eva and the ghouls who took the stage and made it their own performing a full set of original psychopathic material before Eva ended the set with a striptease _ phew it was hot in there!
Deville Dolls took to the stage again with a cheeky Army routine, Then Millie Dollar performed one of the most beautiful Fan dances that i've seen, this is one performer to look out for folks!
The Rhythm Aces then came on and played their set of fiery authentic 50s Rock 'n' Roll - Perfect. I left after this so cant comment on what went on after.
I had a great chat with Eva who wasn't half as sadistic as you would be led to believe - In fact she was very sweet and was a pleasure to meet, I also spoke breifly to Millie but the music was so loud that I think I came across a bit like a weird fan! I couldn't see Emerald as I would like to have met her.
I bought some choccy cigarrettes from a very sweet Usherette called Karen ( Ididn't want any but she gave me the hard sell!)
All in all a great night and I encourage more people to make the next one, Its a very Organic Burlesque Club where the mix shouldn't work it just does - It certainly worked for me X

What a great review Al, i was just about to log on and write about what a great event last night was and how much fun us ghouls had.

I had a great night

Al - I was with Emerald for some of the night and we thought we saw you but we weren't sure if it was, by the time she worked out it was you you had gone!

Millie's fan dance was fantastic and I was proud to be puffed in her powder room skit.

Eva - you and the ghouls were mind blowing, I got a picture of your bass player standing on his double bass

all in all I had a blast - apart from dying after wearing my cincher for 7 1/2 hours!

Oh, we were so sad to have to leave before 11pm but we had to get back to Leicester to the sitter! We only managed to see Millie do her fab powder room skit(Millie - you were devine) and we stayed to watch Eva&the Ghouls but then had to leg it home! It was lovely to meet the very talented Charlotte Thomson and see some of her works of art (allbeit by the light of a cigarette lighter as they had turned the lights off too soon!) (Charlotte I definitely want to organise a commissioned piece soon).
Next time we need to get the kids a sleep over somewhere obviously.
Must say my ears are still ringing thou! must be getting old.

Is it at that fantastic old music hall just off the city square in Nottingham?

I went in once for a drink and sarnie years ago and thought "wow", it was absolutely acheing for a top notch burlesque show!!!

It would be nice to have a regular proper show in Nottingham rather than gigs! I hope to catch the next show, maybe.....

Hi everyone...
just wanted to say thanks on behalf of myself and the other dolls to everyone for the nice things they have been saying about the night... super giant cheers for Millie and Eva... Millie, it was wonderful to meet you and i apologise, there was some serious hero worship going on from me! Eva, you were so lovely to meet (i enjoyed our chat in the 'dressing room') and your voice made me feel a wee bit jealous (but in the good way)....
Al, as Constance mentioned, we thought we might have spotted you but we were unsure (as in your avatar you have a beard!)... then i had to rush off and change and the rest of the night was just me rushing around like a fool! Oh, and i will tell Karen she made an impression on you... that will make her smile!
Thanks to anyone else on here who was there, with these nights a good crowd makes all the difference and from my point of view the crowd looked pretty good!

Oh yeah, Jema, i know which place you mean, that one is fabulous! Our show is at the Social which is probably less suited to the style of performance (it normally puts on indie bands... shudders) but hey, it's home (until we can get somewhere more ornate!)
