Sorry, I must have been unclear: I was referring to the style and form rather than the content per se.
Though miming is always an issue in music generally... are The Cure worth any less because they had to mime in Japan? Many bands do on promo trips... And what about many of the worthy, talented bands who have had to mime on Top Of The Pops? It may have been impossible to set up for sound at that event, so I wouldn't personally judge them by that performance...
Ah, I'm always playing The Devil's Advocate...
I just meant to say that if they're good at what they do there's no reason why they won't find a place for themselves in cabaret, whatever 'sort' that might be...

Unfortunately I agree in part with The Minister of Magic, great bodies so the men in the audience would like them for eye candy, but I do feel that a lot of people would take a loo break, have a ciggie, go to the bar or talk over them.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel they are better suited to chart music, pop music festivals and trendy nightclubs or singles nights. I definately think they are suited to stuff like Sky Television. I believe they could go very far, just not in the Burlesque scene.

Well, when it comes down to it, you are the man................Tis your choice methinks.
I also agree with you about the miming

Just picking up on the point about the idea that they've adopted a 'burlesque' look... and I apologise if I'm missed something and I'm repeating what anyone else has said... but there's two things that spring to mind here. Firstly, can someone tell me what the burlesque look is? I know we've all got that immediate idea of corsets and frilly knickers but there are so many looks and styles from 'classic' 20s/30s to rockabilly 50s to gothic lolita and so much more that I'm sure it would be a challenge for anyone to define 'burlesque' as a look (and rightly so).
Secondly, if there was such a thing as the burlesque look, I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be it!!

You are such a sweet lady Angel, I think that this is a Mumsie pat on the head, but that's because I'm too stupid to recognise a discreet bollocking when I see one.
Incidently I am LOVING your new avatar, best Jessica Rabbit bar none. xx

hehehe no way, I was not telling you off. I just found your post really really funny.
The clarification on what our show contains was a general 'incase anyone was wondering what we do use' kind of thing.
Thanks so much for the nice compliment about my avatar. The photo is by the amazing Deb of Tiptop photography.

Would they have the burlesque look as styled by FHM and Nuts perhaps?

Rose, forgive me for poking my nose in and going off-topic, but I was just reflecting on how cool the second part of your name is (not that the 'Rose' isn't pretty too) and was hit with a sudden flash of burly-name inspiration ... ever considered changing the first bit to 'Mynah'?

Touch 2 Wild (giving U sexy-NESS!)
*wipes eyes after 3 minutes of hysterical laughing before having to turn volume down*
All I will say regarding these young ladies is that no, we probably wouldn't hire them for Candy Box either ; )
I agree with Katie that TO ME to make something Burlesque it should have:
a)slightly adult content of some kind (i.e. be saucy/suggestive/edgy/dark) and
b) a Sense of Humour. This does not necessarily mean it should be a comedy act- but to me even someone like Dita (a 'straight' stripteaser) has her tongue very firmly in her cheek for her act- I mean how camp is a big shoe/glass/carousel horse!!? Even the most elegant, beautiful, straight-faced fan dance should still have a 'twinkle' IMO.
