Default Performer's Travel Insurance - working in Europe

This thread is mainly for the sake of people searching the forums for advice.

I've just spent the last week trying to get travel insurance for my 3 months work in Europe. I rang around several insurers who specialised in the arts & performance industries but found few who could give me a straight answer on whether they could offer a package that included health insurance for entertainers working in Europe.

But, I just had success!

Hencilla Canworth Ltd. group (incorporating First Act) took my details and phoned me back with a quote within 30 minutes - under £100 for 3 months travel insurance (including plenty of £££ of health insurance).

So, if you're ever looking for European health or travel insurance while working in the performing arts, I recommend them!

Beatrix you are by far and away the biggest fountain of knowlege I have ever come across. I love you!

But on a serious note: thank you for the info as I have been asked to go work in Germany at a show....

No worries Khandie! I had such a headache trying to get this sorted... it's taken me weeks. And so I thought it only fair that I provide others with a shortcut.

PS. They only need your home address and the name of the country you're working in. They don't need the address of your temporary accommodation you will be staying in while you're working.

Slightly off topic-but does anyone know of somewhere that does cheap public liability insurance that includes fire? I'm looking at equity at the moment.

Nara - best to start a new thread for that question.

Khandie - Equity already have a pretty concise guide for entertainers working in Europe. It's a .pdf file which can be downloaded from their website (although it's most probably in the member's section). It's been really useful. It even lists the things you need to get sorted in the order you really ought to get the sorted in.

Hyper efficient as always Beatrix ;-)

Something I cant find is insurance for banners to be hung from bridges - in case they fall off and cause an accident - I need it for the Newcastle Gateshead comedy festival but so far I cant find anyone who insures this.

Does the mighty oracle of Beatrix hold the answer I seek ???

Hope you, Trixie and Honey Lulu have a great time in Germany !!

xx

Have I ever needed to hang a banner from a bridge? No.

Do I have the answer? No.

Do I propose hanging a wonderful Warren Speed bunting from bridges up and down the country to promote his imminent world domination? Hell yes. x
