Eh, everyone's allowed to express their opinion. Obviously it just wasn't for her. I've been to see shows and performances that just haven't done anything for me and some that I've thought were downright rubbish, but which everyone around me have loved. It happens every now and then. And maybe due to this woman being a dancer she's super critical - a trained dancer watching me perform would spot I'm not exactly trained within seconds. Maybe she was expecting a full blown dance show. You never know. At least, as far as we know, she expressed her opinion in a public discussion forum and not very loudly and rudely towards the performers themselves, as some people have been known to do ...

I think everyone has the right to their opinion.....I don't however think it's particularly nice to say it out loud. My Gran always told me that if I didn't have anything nice to say then to keep my peace. If she had said 'I had expected Dita Von Teese and swaroski encrusted everythings, huge props and purely glamorous hollywood routines but this wasn't my thing' that would have been fine - but she doesn't, she criticises the performers, their ability and weirdly their costuming and makes out that the ticket price wasn't money well spent...which lots of people did think it was. Saying all this on the internet is exactly as bad as shouting it out at a performance, in fact I think it's worse as people who didn't see the show and can't judge for themselves may be influenced by it. I know you can never stop people voicing unkind statements about others....I just think if you knew you'd be hurt if someone said it about you, then keep it to yourself.

Right - just added my two cents worth to their article.
It wasn't a bad article, through not terrifically well researched. There were just some unfortunate comments from people who obviously didn't know what they were going to see.
I wish now that I'd brought my diamond pasties and corset but you know darlings I thought I'd just bring the tat instead...

Sour grapes!!
Hi All
Thank you all for your lovely posts about our burlesque night. I wasnt the least bit suprised when i read the comment left by Anon from staffordshire it hasnt been the first time that anonymous people have left comments of this type. I wont go into the politics of the build up to Stoke on trent burlesque but certain individuals resort to childish and petty actions that I and Scarlet are aware of and certainly arent losing any sleep over lol! We aimed to put on a fabulous night of entertainment in Stoke on Trent and know we have succeeded in doing just that. Scarlet has also introduced more new people to burlesque. We have just 30 tickets left to our show in December as many of the people at Saturdays show had booked by the time we returned home on the Sunday afternoon so they know a good thing when they see it. We are very proud of the performers and their acts, they are a credit to burlesque indeed and encapsulate what burlesque is all about.

I'll have nothing said against Cheeky Vimto....she's a fabulous performer.....and if she doesn't exist yet then that's deffo a name we should suggest the next time a newbie asks for suggestions
I thought it was a very good review having seen others....I just wish reporters would learn how to spell, as we can't blame the typesetters anymore
And anyway, I'm more interesting in reading Shane Wexford's review....due Thursday...which my google alert for my name (how sad am I? but at least he spells my name right!) just found me his blog: how-you-say-it
