Default Hey Big Spender!

Hey all.....why oh why are my costumes so expensive?

I am currently trying to dress myself for a number of acts, however I was just wondering whether there is any sort of Sponsorship that I can look into (like a corsetier? or repro clothing labels)

I thought i'd ask...maybe I can save myself from the poverty that this art form is plunging me into...ahhhh isn't it bohemian?!

haha

I think with these things it's a case of 'nothing ventured nothing gained'... you can only ask people if they want to sponsor you... the worst they can say is no and you might be pleasantly suprised. If you have no joy on the sponsorship route perhaps it's worth trying to gain some sort of symbiotic relationship with photographers, costumiers, hat makers or whatever it is you most need... where perhaps they don't give you free stuff but maybe they give you a discounted rate in exchange for you performing at events promoting them, model for them etc.
Or the other thing to do is keep your eye open for talented creatives who are early on in their career... photographers who need to build their portfolio often work tfcd and i have found that other people will often do you a better deal if they are just starting out professionally, to get their good name around.
