Personally I thought it was all a little poo! Yes the burlesque was lovely and a lady called Ruby Rouge who spoke up about burlesque as a performer/teacher was lovely but other than that I was bored senseless.OOOOH close up pictures of diseased genitals. Lovely and so unoriginal. Lets video some senseless nit wit teenagers thinking it hysterical that they invite girls round for sex in their hot tub. Wow gotta get an invite to that one. But hey I wonder if their parents know now what stupid kids they are raising.
Sorry for the slightly irrate thread but this series SUCKS! She tries to be funny but fails. The rubbish editting to heighten the tension as she is read the results of her STI/STD check (all clear...suprise surprise) just annoyed me. It was a half arsed attempt at a documentary. The whole sit down 'lets discuss' part was even more hysterical.
Wow this is the education I need to go out in the world to rut (sorry have sex/make love/ have whoppie/ bang uglies/knock boots/bang) I think I'll just watch the freebies on Television X at night. So much more information and funnier to watch.

Least I know why it was so slow last night.
Might have to watch it on 4OD purely for this Kitten pose, the rest of it sounds like the a load of crap. I hate stuff like this, they tend to swing between trying to hammer in responsible sex with an 'oh aren't we being daring and open' attitude.

Don't do it Blitz!!!
I just wrote a whole rant on why this programme was stupid but my connection is being rubbish (James, is MoB being all slow again or is that just me?) and decided it wasn't going to send.
Basically she seems to think pornography is worse than STIs and teen pregnancy (first 5 minutes).
Burlesque is "the new dance craze that claims to improve your sex life" (she drew that last claim from workshops offering to "improve confidence and self-esteem").
Some random man though was an absolute angel and said that the sexy thing about burlesque is the confidence that the performer must have. When she pressed him to admit it was actually the lingerie and stripping he confessed that, although he likes that too, the sexy part is the confidence.

Excuse my ludeness but i ( so would )
Not overly impressed with it either, It may be better after the watershead but then it's aimed at young ( ish ) teens.
I wonder if i'd have watched that show insted of sex tips for girls at fourteen would my sex life be different.
In all honesty i don't think that programme will do anything benificial. If it makes a few people think about getting screened for sti's and stuff then ok.
I think the thing that shocked me the most this year was a woman in her early 20's diagnosed with cervical cancer, flying out to vagas to be married as her treatment was starting soon and they weren't sure what would happen.
Just the thought of being with the man you love only to loose him so quickly had me in floods of tears. Im sure showing the reality of loosing someone to illness would have more of an effect then any " play safe " campaigne ever would.

Am I the only person who gets annoyed at the constant mentioning of burlesque and sex in the same breath? Burlesque isn't always about sex you know!

I was most worried by the whole 17 year old regular hot-tub orgies organised through Facebook! And the parents seemed to know but just said 'We as an older generation have to realise that things are different now' or some such rubbish.
Maybe I'm just bitter because there were no parties like that when I was 17. (or at least I was never invited to any)

Looking at the time you posted (9.36pm) it was probably having another peak because at 9.21pm Jo King, Mysti Vine and Crimson Skye were on Dawn...Gets Naked on BBC2....so get ready to welcome a whole new raft of lovely newbies to the fold wanting to get more confident about their bodies
(and no I don't sit watching my telly with a stopwatch...it's just I really wanted to video this to show Jo to the hubby as the wonderful lady whose course I was on and I forgot, and didn't switch it on till 9.21 so spotted the time...anyway, why do I need to explain myself to you lot, I don't need no alibi )

Wow! That's pretty smart of you!
The hot tubs parties shocked me too. I never had any of that when I was 17! The thing that annoyed me was this:
*scrolling through myspace pictures of girls with their boobs out (who could have been 24 for all we know!)*
"It shocked me the number of teens who had sexually explicit photographs up on the internet. Over half of teenagers use networking sites like these".
That's true. But do they all get their boobs out? No! Do they all go to hot tub parties with randomers? No! Do they all ask people for sex via the networking sites? No!
Oh and one of these "sexually explicit" photos was two girls sitting on stools, perfectly reasonable everyday pose, smiling to the camera, modest t shirts and...in skirts. *GASP OF HORROR* Not skirts I hear you cry. But alas I'm afraid it's true!
I hate scaremongering!

It's grating when it's put across in programmes like this hell yeah.
Improving confidence and whatever may have effect on your sex life but it will only because it effects everyday life.
I wouldn't dream of making a routine up especially for the sake of a guy in the bedroom. Nope Nope Nope. All for empowerment and sexuall liberation but if the whole reason for a woman attending a burlesque class is to please a guy it sets the gender role at a hole new low.

Indeed. I don't even do sexy in my routines - I make a conscious effort not to make them overtly sexy (except the Noir one, but then, that's why I'm uncomfortable doing it). The OH doesn't quite believe me and says it will always be seen as sexual purely because I have very few clothes on. But if people can't separae nudity from sex that's their interpretation, not mine. If an audience sees my act as sexy then that's just a bonus, but hopefully it's secondary, because it's not what I'm trying to put across.
Besides, I'd feel a right prat trying to act all sexy, even if it was just for my man in the bedroom - I'd only embarrass myself!
