Default Wings of Isis

Ok so I am thinking of this new routine that I have in my noggin and was wondering about wings of Isis....but then I got all confuddled.

How do they 'stay on'? As in if I dont want to use them for one part and have the down by my side will they stay?

Ok so I could have gone and looked at a pair but alas I cant seem to find some anywere.

can anyone shed any light?

They usually attach with a collar that you fasten round your neck. The wings are sewn on to that and hang down your back. They have plastic or bamboo rods in the ends of the edges that you hold to manipulate the wings. If you drop the rods, they weigh down the wings, so they stay down your back. If you want to pick them back up again, you have to sort of feel for the rods and grab them again. An easy way to do this is to run your fingers down the edge of the wings from the collar, because the rods can move and the wings get tangled up. It isn't very smooth though, so it can look a bit awkward and clunky. One method I'm considering to stop this is to attach ribbons further down the wings and tie them around my wrists, so the rods are right there where I need them to be when I drop them. Maybe if you're handy with a needle that might help?

No problem doll! If you and I ever end up in the same place at the same time I'll let you have a go on a pair of my wings ...

But eBay occassionally offers up some good finds!
