Not super long - it's past my waist though. It won't get much longer because it's so fine that it gets all straggly at the ends. I'm trying though! I used to work with a girl whose hair was almost down to her knees, and it was gorgeously thick as well so it was in beauiful condition all the way to the ends. Think the girl you worked with had a point, the longer your gets the more likely it is to get damaged and if its fine then the ends are unfortunately much more likely to split (mine was the same).
Oh, and those gorgoeus shoes....
