I've tried my hardest to make my bedroom into a boudouir - not easy as I live with my boyfriend who complains it's too 'girly'. I take a little time sometimes to turn off all the lights, light a load of candles, and lay on the bed either reading or chatting to friends on the phone. There's something about it that makes me feel like I should be in some glamour shot and I love it!

And let us know how it went!

Over dress every day you never know who you are going to meet

i've got into the habit myself of calling everyone 'poppet' 'darling' or 'love'

as its getting a bit nippy now i've transended to seamed and patterned tights over my stockings i'll save those for perfomances and keep warm during day to day life

walk around Asda at irrational hours looking like a stepford wife with one of the small trolley and buy yourself flowers

thats just a few things i do an incite into the mechanics of my mind x

lol - this thread makes me happy just reading through it

Ditch any hideous Spanx pants of 'magic knickers' you own - I don't care if Trinny and Susannah told you to wear them, vast swathes of beige lycra are just not flattering! Invest in a decent vintage or repro girdle, pantie girdle, or even corselette instead; it'll have the same effect but make you feel sexy instead of frumpy!

"Spanx" is a very, very bad word for me. I shutter everytime I see them in the department stores. A very lovely wide-front lace panel suspender belt is wonderful in a lady's repertoire:

I try to put my hair in Victory rolls, but they turn out more like dinner rolls than Victory rolls!

I've turned one of the extra bedrooms in my house into a boudoir, complete with an antique art deco mirrored vanity and art deco armoire. I lounge around in my velvet robe and silk marabou mules.

Also, when I come home from work or from a night out on the town, I take off my clothes by doing a little striptease in front of the mirror. (A burlesque performer should always practice, at every opportunity!) (Did I just admit to that???)
