Default Live Vs Canned Music

Hi folks I've just had a message from a member which is part of an on going conversation and I've just had a "Wake up" moment. She told me that some performer said had spoken to (I'm not sure where her stance is) voiced the opinion that performing with a live band was a bit stripper-esque. When I approached a live band to work with a performer they said they felt that Burlesque to Cds i.e canned music was stripper-esque. So My question is which of the two opposite opinions is nearest to Burlesque.

Given that burlesque is not a monolithic entity, neither is "nearest to burlesque". Does that make sense?

In other words, the difference between burlesque and stripping has nothing to do with whether the music is live or pre-recorded...

I whole heartedly agree and that is why I was was a little taken aback with the statement from both performer and band. I personally enjoy all forms of live entertainment, I find them to be mesmeric and I mean from circus to opera. So if there is a divide how can it be bridged. I guess is the next question.
