I am the 50's housewife that was on tv! I have had such negative feedback about the programme & would just like to say thank you to you girls for being so nice.
Channel4 & the article in the Daily Mail have twisted my words to say the least.
I am a singer on the 40's scene & I embarked on the programme which was to be about living a vintage lifestyle, because they said they would promote my singing career. I filmed for five 12 hour days. Lots of great footage at a 40's event with me singng, dancing....loads of very well dressed people. They chose to ignore it all. As time went on, the director said that she would be concentrating on the women as we were coming over as "stronger characters" Di & Deb are friends of mine and we made lots of interesting and valid points about our way of life. When it went to the edit, i had a call to say that they had changed the name to "Time Warp Wives" and that was obviously when they edited it to say what THEY wanted and not what WE wanted. We were no longer "strong characters" but down trodden housewives with no life!
I have cried for three days since I saw it!!
I love baking & being married to my lovely husband. I love my house & how we live. But, I also have a personality & views on the world & a day job & I busy singing career........none seemed to have been mentioned.
I have had some awful personal comments made about me on websites. Its so hard when you have been portrayed incorrectly by the media, as everyone believes what they are told. I just wanted to say that you ladies are all sweeties and have put a smile back on my face. I thank you very much.
