Sorry Miss Dufoe, not meaning to carry this thread on after you have expressed your wishes for it to end but this is not concerning what has happened to you, just in response to being a newbie who doesn't want to step on anyone's perfectly manicured and beautifully agile dancing feet!
In response to blitzgrrl's post: Me too! I've got two concepts that I am putting a lot of thought into at the moment and I dread the thought of ever being unintentionally similar to another act!

It is a worry that's for sure. I'd never want to rip anyone off.
I do stand up and it happens there too. You see acts not doing so well and they then bring out gags I've seen done by more succesful acts. Yes it gets them praise at the time because some people don't realise it is a rip off, but it always upsets me because it's not their talent and they act like it is.
