I had a secretary routine, though I think I only performed it twice.

Mimi Demure has a librarian routine, she actually is one at daytime as well.

Is there a central database anywhere where people can input their routines? Is this something someone could set up? Would possibly help with the copying issue.

Oh god don't get paranoid there are just so many things that have the same theme. I had a cat routine and there are hundreds of cat routines out there. Also there are loads of drag acts around.

Get going on doing the act you can always give it a twist.

It doesn't matter though - any theme you can think of has probably been done! I have a casino act and I know there are loads of other girls who do. I can pretty much guarantee though that none of them use the same concept as me. It's just a case of looking around to see who has the same theme and then not treading on their toes. Deliberately choose different music or approach the theme from another angle and it'll be fine. If you're worried you'll step on someone's toes, send them a quick message and ask. I've had to change routines a fair few times because other people used similar ideas, but it always worked out well in the end because it allowed me to come up with my own angle. Don't let paranoia hold you back!

I'm glad this has been raised, my jaw dropped when I saw the pictures today. I know we generally all have similar acts (with the key being to make the theme your own) but this was just creepy.

As a newbie to performing I'd hate to think that any of my acts were the same as anyone else's. I'd like to feel that I've put a lot of thought into the way my acts are going, routines, costumes and props. I can only imagine how horrified and angry I'd be to discover that someone was just going and picking out acts to perform.
But think it's lovely how it's obviously back firing on this performer.
Inspiration is one thing - a bad photocopy is something completely different.
