Anyway, please do not mention any names on here. The person in question is well known to the burlesque community and most people know to stay well clear of rip-off artists like this,

I think it's important to point out a few facts:

1) The rip off merchant doesn't have the talent you have, not even close.

2) As I now know who the performer is I will not book her ever, no mater how good she gets. I and my wife also have a good relationship with Lulu Spanx so I doubt she will ever work The Cherry Pop Peep Show. You have an excellent relationship with Fey Tish so Red Rocks! will probably freeze her out. Angel and I do have a friendship Candee Handful Photography so Dr. Sketchy Birmingham could freeze her out also. I'd also be shocked if she got work with Cherry Fox at Silhouette/Appleby Burlesque - that leaves The Candy Box, not a chance.

3) The performer also won a contest a few months back. The contest was fixed by the actual club organiser. I actually recruited people for the contest when I thought it was a contest - I've since continuousely apologised to all the talent I recuited, and I will never do anything for that club ever again. For the record, the contest was not at a regular Burlesque night, it was a fetish club night.

4) The performer was also in another Burlesque contest in which she lost. Apparently she complined to the event organiser afterwards because she didn't win. The actual winner of the contest is an amazing performer that I have worked with and will work with again.

5) The more people I talk to who know the performer in question, the more people I find who don't like said performer.

Yes - be annoyed. But rest assured that the Burlesque scene and it's supportiveness will freeze out this performer. I've just seen the pictures of the act that has annoyed you - it looks virtually identical - and I empathise with how angry you are. For the record said performer has talked about her 'Britney Spears' routine she has, after she saw Angel LaVey perform 'The Burlesque Factor'. I also believe she has ripped off Cherry Fox's 'Go-Go April Showers' act. Sadly the rip off merchant was also at the Big Burlesque Bout. There may has also been talk of one of Fleur du Mals routines being ripped off.

Whilst I acknowedge that performers do have a cross over of acts and ideas, I am appalled by the lack of imagination and blatantness of this performers actions. I also know this performer uses the MoB so this thread will not go unnoticed.

The ettiquette of the MoB forum dictates that we cannot openly mention the performer - that doesn't mean that we haven't already been talking about the performer privately or in groups. Be warned copy cat - the people you have annoyed have very good reputations and they will not sit around bemoaning the fact, they will talk openly. Stop now and salvage whatever of your reputation you still have.

I suspect that had the rip off merchant auditioned for the Big Burlesque Bout then sad performer would have come last by a country mile.
