I havent got anyone to go to Burlesque nights with me either.
My loke is being an arse at the moment and wont take me to the Alice In Wonderland Tea Party on my B'day.
Dont know whats got into him lately.
I just think that he doesnt like me going out without him, but he hasnt taken me out AT ALL since last October!
Anyway, enough of my moaning.

I allways go to burly events on my own as my partner lives in the UK. Inffact the Silk stocking (most recent one) was the first one that he has been to with me.
I generally just find some interesting looking people and start talking and then normally get invited to sit with them.(Unless Im performing ofc in which case it would be quite odd sitting waiting for myself to go onstage hehe).
People at burly events are lovley on the whole so dont be shy!

Grr - I'm all grumpy and cross and disappointed and sad this morning because for the second time my friends promised to come to a local burlesque night with me and then pulled out at the last minute leaving me unable to make alternative arrangements. I'm itching to see some of the local shows but don't want to sit all night by myself with no-one to talk to and wondered if there were any other northern birds in the same boat? If anyone out there is a tad more reliable and up for going to see some North East shows then please get in touch. Maybe we can create an exclusive 'friends with vanilla mates who go and see burly shows together' group?
On the other hand are there any other brave souls who go to see shows by themselves without knowing anyone at all? If so then what is the atmosphere like and is it the kind of environment where you can just meet some friendly people and get chatting without looking like some sort of desperate freak?

we'd have looked after you at jeepers! i kept on running around trying to find you and was very sad to hear you couldn't make it!
