Me and Dixie debuted our Rocky Horror double act at the BatCave/Club AntiChrist in London last week.
We're doing it again at the Voodoo Cafe in Darlington tomorrow night.
I play Frank n Furter and Dixie does Magenta - and I reckon we look pretty good even if I do say so myself.
When we get some pix, I'll post a few (when I learn HOW to post pix on this forum) ....

I adore the RHPS I own 2 CD's of it (yes a tad addicted) : The Rocky horror picture show (original sound track) & The Rocky Horror Picture Show (UK).
In my defence 1 is just music the other is the whole movie.
I cant BELIEVE (very Vicor Meldrew style) it! How could they do this to us!!!!
Bah humbug!

Oh dear lord, I'm not a fan of those pictures of me, I fudged up the costume in a mad-dash quick change before that pic was taken. Jack was an awesome Brad though, he really looked the part.
Deirdre & Violet would need to be the judging panel on any Rocky Burlesque Show auditions/casting that takes place, it's only right, they know best.
I think we can relax with the knowledge that it is all unsubstantiated rumour.

It's so difficult to join in this discussion when you've been going to Rocky as long as I have (I joined Glasgow's performing group in October 1986 and no I wasn't only a year old ;-). The obsessives I know number their Rocky CDs in the 100s. Yes, seriously!
The main drawback of being a Rocky fan is that most of us are so obsessed with costumes and getting them perfect that it makes looking at most photos of "normal" (ie non-obsessed people) dressed up in labcoats or an Ann Summers basque going "Whoo! Rocky Horror night!" painful... think of fans of burlesque watching someone at a karaoke night going "whoo!! Tassles!" and then getting their paps out is the only comparison I can think of.
Anyway like Violet said, the MTV remake thing has being doing the rounds for a while, we die hards tend to go ah right yeah that thing again (though I'm going to pop over to the Time Warp RH fanclub forums and see if there's any mass panic there...nope, just the die-hards saying "again?" and everyone else saying "No! Please don't!"). And in any case, it couldn't be any worse than Singalonga Rocky Horror.
As long as we still have the occasional but regular midnight screening, in a little fleapit cinema somewhere, a complete subculture with a full house of costumed diehards throwing toast (and birthday cake for Ms Vendetta "Splosh" Vain in her gold bikini), a full shadowcast carrying it off with the true decadent (and very burlesque) spirit, and maybe the odd glove puppet simulating a sex scene (preferably with my hand inside it), I'll be happy.
PS The idea of two people called Deirdre and Violet judging a Rocky contest is so bizarre, eh Saff!
PPS I've been hunting high and low for a half decent photo of us together, but could only find this one! I guess they were wrong about Al Palooka as Eddie... ;-)

Ok please don't throw anything at me (other than toast) buuuuuuut (and I'm being devil's advocate here) wouldn't perhaps at least the Singalonga and possibly even the MTV version possibly hypothetically whet some younguns appetites to find out more about the real thing?
For all those youngsters growing up who might never have seen the original and wouldn't think of doing so because, well, High School Musical 3 is out soon isn't it....might it not be a price worth paying if the kiddies discovered the wonderful world and wanted more, and bigger, and better?

You would think so.... but... since Singalonga came along A) it's been really hard to get a print of the movie B) it's escalated the movie more into the office-party hen-night scene and away from the screwed-up-vaguely-goth-possibly-gay-I'm not sure teenage scene. C) they've designed their own "Audience participation" which sucks, big time.
The way fans do RHPS has always been a bit home grown and done lovingly, with a lot of passion for it. Singalonga do a movie with subtitles for £13. Think of it as Arkwright's corner shop versus Tesco Extra.
