Default Favourite films?

With all the talk of new releases just wondered what your favourite films of all time are?

mine in no paricular order:

American Pyscho - the best book to film I have ever seen

If... - Malcom Mcdowell is amazing in this film

Love on the dole - the best kitchen sink drama I have seen

1984: John Hurt is fantastic as winston.

Withnail and I

Um...

Pi - very edgey cult classic (not American pie!)
Hairspray (guilty pleasure)
Mrs Henderson Presents (makes me cry)
The Colour Purple (makes me bawl my eyes out)
Apocolypse Now.

Legally Blonde
Pirates of the Caribbean (Predictable I know)
Life of Brian (but without someone sat next to me quoting the lines a split second before they're spoken)
Muriels wedding

My all time favourite film is Withnail and I.

It is just a magical mystery tour of quotable lines and exchanges and each one a winner!

When it comes to picking others I have to really sit down and think about it so I'll leave in the company of Withnail and see if I come up with any others...

I need to add this to my list, I completely forgot in the haze of trying to take my mind off work.

This is what started my obsession with paul mcgann, plus he has been the Dr - How could anyone get any better?

OH!! I love the Thin Man! The costumes were amazing!

Here are mine:

Dangerous Liaisons (how can anyone not love this film?)
Bram Stoker's Dracula (Gary Oldman's young Dracula is soooo dreamy!)
Queen Margot
The Count of Monte Cristo (the Jim Caviezel version)
Elizabeth I (I love Geoffrey Rush's Walsingham character)
Being Julia (Annette Bening and Jeremy Irons are spectacular)

Obviously, I love period pieces with great costumes. And a bit of betrayal and revenge does not hurt either!

God I love that film, tried to turn it into a play once...didn't work!

I love Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Jane Russell is a godess!
Some Like it Hot is a classic and On The Town is the biggest musical camp fest! I wish I had Anne Millers legs.
Modesty Blaise is gorgeous too!

For anything after the 60's it's gotta be Hot Fuzz, Serenity and Sin City.

Ooh:

Secretary (a splendid fairy-tale for grown ups with an imagination and a taste for experimentation. Beautiful interior office design too!)

Brazil (Terry Gilliam's messed-up imagination is scarily prophetic.)

Mary Poppins (need I say more and the stage show made me cry it was so magical.)

The Empire Strikes Back (and I have an extensive collection of Star Wars figures and spacecraft - yes I am that nerdy.)

Cabaret (an essential for this forum I think. Dark and somehow manages to be seedy and classy at the same time.)

Watership Down (I sob from the opening titles but always feel so much better afterwards.)

Most films that have had anything to do with Richard Curtis.

Hmm, may well plough my way through the above over the weekend...
