My advice is give my other half a call and have a good chat about your worries and issues - Angel has gone through huge body changes and so will probbly be very empathic and supportive.

Oh sweetheart, ok, number one, the stretchmarks will fade, they look all pink and veiny to start, but they do shrink a bit and become finer silvery lines, and seriously you'll be the only one who ever knows they're there - which I know is still not a great thing, but eventually you'll get your head round it.
Number two - if you can get your head into the right place, scars can be fantastic. Have you seen Lethal Weapon 3 where Rene Russo and Mel Gibson compare scars? They great at parties when everyone gets drunk and want to compare scars. AND they're great to grossing out (or impressing) kids too - just wait till the first time you can show them a scar and describe the blood and gore that splattered the surgeon's face as he operated on you....erm, honest.
Having said that, I have certain scars I can cope with showing people and laughing about and then there are the scars on my legs from where I used to self-harm. These I have to hide, usually wearing boots because they're still to psychologically raw, but I am getting better with them over time. And there are ways to cover them up, make-up, clothing etc.

If you want books I'm a bookcrosser and have got quite a few on my shelves of various genres I could send you if you PM me your address. I'll have a look at what I've got in a mo and let you know what's available.

OH MY GOODNESS! BLIMEY, REALLY?!
And in the meantime, we could play I spy..... I spy with my little eye something beginning with c.
Or play charades - ok I'm holding up 4 fingers. Now I'm putting my two hands together and pretending to open and shut them, like possibly...erm a book. Now I've made a tube with one hand and with the other hand I seem to be winding up or cranking up a handle, erm like an old fashioned movie camera. ok, fourth word....I'm bending over and pretending to fart, and whiffing away the imaginary smell..... (you're looking a little blank, do you need the first three words too?)

Hun you have nothing to worry about though I understand why you do.
I have a large scar on my right cheek that I have had for so VERY long and I know its not going anywhere and I cant cover it up but it dosent stop me from doing what I want to do, I still model despite it being in a very obvious place and I have decided its one of my quirks! I mean there was a model with one eye that made it big and I can see having one eye being a much bigger hurdle to jump over.
I also as every one have scars all over the place from various things but they all fade over time and them I think of them less and less...
Hun I think you are beautiful and I'm sure no matter what those scars are out shined by this.
You will feel better about yourself soon, I promis.
*Hugs*

My hubby is also a complete worrier we joke that he's not happy unless he's worried about something, the plus side of this is that he is also a perfectionist and that anything he does is always planned to perfection and always goes of without a hitch - because he's always so worried about things going wrong!!
Dont beat yourself up about worrying about things will mean that things will (hopefully) never go wrong !!
Try to occupy youself as much as poss, maybe planning new routines and outfits, trying to come up that new idea that hasnt been done before !!!
Bio oil or Almond oil are both good for stretch marks, from personal experience use almond oil, cant comment on bio oil as never used it but heard its good.
Take care & hope to see you out and about soon

Hi Fleur.
So sorry to hear you're miz - although after Tempest Devine's excellent game of charades you must be feeling a wee bit better.
I know it's dull but whenever I'm low, and having listened to all of The Cure's back catalogue, I'll start watching films back to back. The soppier the better.
I'll send some up to you if you'd like.

Bio Oil! Bio Oil! It does wonders. But at the end of the day, most women have stretch marks due to normal fluctuations in weight through various stages of their lives. I have them, along with wierdly placed moles and lumps and bumps, but once you're recovered enough to perform you'll quickly realise that under the lights and with an animated performance not a soul will see your stretch marks.
I watch musicals when I'm feeling down. Gentlement Prefer Blondes, Moulin Rouge, South Pacific, etc. They do it every time!
The glorious thing about Burlesque is that it isn't about being perfect, it's about being original and you.

You are doing the right thing in talking to your friends.... talking about your problems always makes them seem a little bit better.
I think everyone has stretch marks at some point... we all - put on weight.. believe me, I am an expert in putting on weight .... but the little marks do fade....
Have you ever seen the film Shirley Valentine? They are on the boat, about to make love when Shirley Valentine says... "oh my god, he kissed my stretch marks"... he then says.. "but Shirley, they are a beautiful part of you" never a more true word said!
Go out, enjoy the fresh air, trawl the internet for new ideas around your next costume, read books etc... and you will soon be feeling better in no time.
I think its safe to say... everyone is always here to listen... and play eye spy
