Stressed Over Booking Talent
Do any of the other promoters/club night organisers on here ever get stressed out trying to figure out when to have who performing when and in what position on the bill?
I feel like I have a list of people I want to book but not enough spaces on the shows or enough shows to get them all!
Aaaarrrrrrgh!

Better that than be scrabbling around searching and then your business goes to pot! Hmmmmm, now that is what I call stress!

Gehenna, you could always theme the event and cast accordingly. Ask all the potential performers for details of their acts... perhaps limit yourself to a musical period and then you could break it down from there?
Seems obvious and perhaps you already do it, but think about the flow of the evening, casting perhaps a firecracker of an act for opener, then a storyteller, then something more classical like a fandance/balloon pop, then finish with a skill based spectacular; like a singer/magician/fire performer or simply an odd prop! Or your headliner...
Just an idea Have fun choosing

Birmingham has 4 clubs, we are the only club night without a theme. Because my wife is a performer she has experienced the aggro of not being able to work for x, y or z clubs because she doesn't have an act that fits a theme, so we made a concious decision not to use themes, instead looking to showcase talented performers and newcomers.
An how true Kitten - at least Angel and I aren't scrabbling around looking desperately for talent.

Maybe you should co-ordinate it unthemed. We used performers who are all completely different for Coquette. Just rule the ones out who look and are similar in performances and try to mix the extremes.
Not sure if that helps but it's a suggestion.

I meant a theme per show Then you can use anyone you like but it helps casting.
Nevermind

love the themed Jeepers Peepers nights, when are you coming back to York ladies? I need a night to go to and relax without having to organise it.
