Tempest Honey, I was very fortunate when I did my burlesque training. Some rather established performers made us think about all the things that could go wrong with an act as part of our training manual. They also went to great lengths to instill in us -"just keep going and remember to smile".

It's funny because the venue tested that microphone earlier on in the day and it worked just fine. Personally I think some Gremlins might have decided to have an excursion.

Who did you train with?

When things have gone wrong for me with mics or props (not doing burlesque though) I've always been self-deprecating and made a joke of it, but I've never worked to a backing track before yet and haven't worked out if it goes wrong - it's one of the things I want to have a strategy prepared for...so I've watched an expert cope with it already
