Given the docs have never even been able to find out what is wrong with my back (a problem since falling out of a tree when I was ten) I can only think acupuncture is the way forward.

My ex used to believe that all illnesses were a figment of the imagination. He got cancer and STILL believe he was just imgaining it, and that he got better by repeating to himself "I am healthy. I am strong". Personally, I think that's a little far fetched

I've heard that before too! I find it a bit bizzare but it's the whole mind over matter thing I guess. My Grandma was due to have a hysterectomy and she went to see a healer and when she went in for her pre-operation appointment they found she didn't need it at all. It was so weird!

Oh yeah I'm quite into spiritualism and healing. It's a very good form of relaxation, a few of my mother's friends practice reiki and I think it's brilliant.

I'd just like to point out now though that this is nothing to do with religion as the last thing i wish to do is offend anyone...

My friend is just starting Reiki too which I think is fascinating! Lucky for me she wants to practise in some people first before she's let loose on the public

We're not easily offended here! ;-)

Ooh enjoy it! It's an absolutely wonderful experience, no matter how you look at it or your reason for getting it, you certainly walk out feeling a little more relaxed, if nothing else...

The mother of the ex I was talking about was a Reiki master (Is that the right word- like a really successful one), and used to do the Reiki stuff when I was ill, gave me some of her alternative medicine and stuff, and I did get better but was never sure if it was just because I'd had a sleep and slept the illness off.

Well sleep does help the body to heal as that is when the body can really get to work. Reiki tends to help the proccess, it isn't a miracle at work as people tend to expect miraculous things to happen, but it does help
