Default Advice would be great....

Hello peeps, I am new to the site and was looking for some advice. I have tickets to the Martini Lounge in Liverpool in August but it is my first time at a show. I am going with a friend and it will be her first time as well but she is really looking forward to getting all glammed up etc...BUT, what do fellas wear? Is their a dress code? I have this vision in my head of dressing like a villian from the film Underworld or like a Depeche Mode Groupie (which is cool none the same) !!

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated...

Ta

Hello! The twenties gangster look is very popular, probably the easiest to do if you have got some smart trousers and a nice shirt. Team it with braces and a trilby and I'm sure you'll look fab!

The Underworld-villain-Gothic look is perfectly acceptable too if you've got clothes for that already... anything dandyish and extravagant!

And theirs me hoping to get away with jeans and a t-shirt

I suppose I'm going to have to do a bit of shopping. Braces are not something I own i'm afraid

I do like the look of the 20s gangster just not sure i have the erh, footballs to pull it off.

thanks for responding anyway, appreciate it

My fella just tends to wear dark trousers, dark shirt and vaguely vintage style tie.
I have seen people there in jeans etc but tbh they can look a bit out of place.

Make an effort and have fun with it :-) Even if not the full gangster style then go for smart and stylish :-)

Also you could go for a sort of glam sort of look. thats what my boyfriend does, but he dresses like that most of the time anyway.

Just make sure you feel comfortable, theres nthing worse than going out and not feeling comfortable in what your wearing.

Just dress up.

xx

Burly shows always seem like a good place to get thoroughly glammed up and not feel overdressed, so just have fun with it and enjoy yourself.

I'm looking forward to dressing up in a floor length gown for the next Slippery Belle... seems like a good enough excuse.

My other half usually wears a bowling skirt with a 50s pin up on it and dark trousers, bowling shoes with a white tip are hot too. We still need to find some though.
