Default Circus Training

I've been looking into doing some circus training as I think it would give more to my performances.

Just would like some feedback from you guys.

Is it worth my while?

Have any of you done circus training and has it improved your performance in terms of burlesque?

Any feedback would be good.

Hiya Missy,

I would say learning any kind of new skill to broaden your peformance portfolio is worth your while.

My partner and I run a theatre and production company and it was actually our background in circus performance that brought us into the world of burlesque.

It might not be relevant as we are based in Glasgow but we do run circus skills workshops ( that particular page isn't up yet, still getting tweaked) - Rhymes with Purple Productions - Theatre, Cabaret, Burlesque -

Cricus skills are not only heaps of fun but open up whole new dimensions, tricks and talents you can incorporate into your acts. It's not all red noses and big shoes.

I say go for it, and enjoy!

Thanks for your advice.

I found a circus school in Sheffield and I've wanted to learn circus skills since I was a kid.

I just want to add more to my performance, so i'm definately going to learn some circus skills.

hey always good to hear of more circus shenanigans!

greentop in sheffield are awesome, i trained trapeze there for awhile when i was at acro school in rotherham...

i took up burlesque when my circus career effectivly ended due to illness. I still do a little burlesque trapeze and walkabout.

I do find it's hard to book since most venues aren't capable of rigging but skills like gymnastics, juggling etc are always great!

have fun

xx

Definately! I've been trying to learn aerial and it's definately worth it. Can be a little expensive to set up your own equipment but it's soooo much fun!
