Default Back for some fun

Well a lot has happened to me since I was last posting. I have become an air hostess. How odd! I work for Japan Airlines and so far it's been good but I fear times are changing. The era of the hostess is coming to an end. How sad

So in between my flying I'm hoping to come to more burlesque events because I really loved my night out at the hanbury club.
I think my ultimate dream job would be to become a photographer but as I bypassed a uni degree (have the Foundation art degree though) and am now 21 I don't see this happening. Just bought a Canon 450D which I am loving and it's giving me the photography bug again.

Hmmm well what is a girl to do? My mind changes so often! Anyway I'm back for good now and hope to see you at an event soon.

Oh no! Age is nothing! A relative of mine trained to be an accountant when he was in his 30's and went back to uni and everything and now he runs his own company. You're never too old to learn my lovely! Chase your dream chick! And enjoy your air hostessing too!! Sounds fab! xxxxxx

21 is nothing! (in the nicest possible way! I didn't start my degree until I was 25...)

There are plenty of places that will let you study distance learning or part time; but I'm sure with something more artistic like photography, one's credibility is based more on portfolio than qualifications.

if it's what you really want to do, don't let go. Find a way.

All the best,

Clare

Miss D is so right here! If it's what you want to do, do it! If you don't try as hard as you can, you'll only regret later in life. If you try and it doesn't work out, at least you'll know you've done the best you can. But if it does work out, who knows where it could lead?

I'm a firm advocate of following your dreams right now - too much time in a soul-destroying job has got to me and I'm determined to grab hold of what I want to do with both hands and put my all into it! I could fail spectacularly, but at least I'd know I'd given it all I'd got! So I whole-heartedly encourage you to find a way, if it's really your dream ^__^

I have just had a really simular experience. I am now 21 and I actually was studying for a photography degree until about a year and a half ago. As much as I loved photography I just wasn't enjoying the course so I decided to stop. At the time I felt horrible; I hated the course but loved photography and thought I had thrown all possibility of a creative career down the plughole. I felt like I had messed everything up and missed my chance to do what I wanted in life. Lots of people told me that it was silly to think that at 20, and although at the time it didn't make me feel any better...now with a little bit of time they were right. I've now found a different, yet equally creative career path to wander down.

It sounds like you have a working knowledge of photography already, and I still don't think you have to have a degree to be succesful. Hands-on experience is invaluable! So assisting a photographer is always a good option (but often an un-paid one I'm afraid). And working on developing your style and portfolio

Don't give up on what you want to do, it's so important to be happy sweetie!!

Hey I went back to uni last year at 39! It was great fun being in a class of mostly 22 year olds and feeling young enough again to be silly but also old enough to become everyone's Mum/Agony Aunt. Go for it - life is too short and I wasn't the oldest at the Uni by a long shot
