Default Contracts what to include?

Hello all
Just looking for some advice as regards contracts, if anyone can help. I haven't used one before as a solo performer, although when I have been booked through an agency, there has usually been one. However, I have been meaning to put one together for ages for my own bookings, but not really sure what to include.
So, if you are being booked for an event, what exactly should you stipulate in a contract? If anyone has any advice or maybe a template, it'd be much appreciated!

Daiquiri x

i always advise people to look at equity... they will have contracts on there an you can use them as a guide adding or removing what you feel is necessary. their really upping their game at the mo regarding contracts... im a designer though so i cant comment to much from the performers point of view. but hopefully it can give u a starting point

From experience at receiving contracts you need to be very clear and precise at the very least! we've normally found examples of the following...

Explain your payment terms (deposit? Before/ after performance).
Explain any requirements you have as regards equipment and space needed (chairs, mics etc)
Detail permissions to use any photos/ film taken of your performance (Dita's a good reference for this one I'm sure!)
Detail performance lengths and any changing room space required/ equipment storage.
Explain that if you are unable to make the show then you will not be held liable for any loss of takings etc and also that if they cancel your performance within 'x' amount of weeks/days of the event then you expect to be paid in full (as you could have taken another booking).

Can't think of much more. Hope this helps!
