Hello All,
My name is Sam - some of you may know me from the greenroom theatre in Manchester (I work on the emergency platform/Hazard/Method Lab/In Transit - I'm not Box Office Sam!) I'm writing because I also work for a circus arts company - Skylight Circus Arts - based in Rochdale. We offer classes and courses in aerial skills, as well as a host of other stuff like tightrope and unicycle. I wanted to know if any of these classes might appeal. Circus skills are a great way to get fit and develop co-ordination and balance. We often embark on collaborations with artists from other art forms, especially from dance - in the past these have included Wired Aerial Theatre, Gravity and Levity, and Stumble Dance among others. We are also looking at running a traineeship programme in the future which will give people skills in delivering creative workshops and circus skills.
We have a huge hall that is available as rehearsal space too - we're not technically equipped, at all - but it is a good space. And cheap, at the end of the day.
So, if anyone out there is interested, please let me know so I can keep you informed of all the opportunities that are coming up!
