I'm sure many of you have already heard about this on the news... I just wanted to ask everyone who supports the market to visit more than ever now. We've been fighting so hard to keep it open, and many of the traders in the most heavily damaged part were those who'd been evicted from the parts now being demolished, and many of the other shops had their storage areas there. From my friends' shops, I don't want to even think about the amount of vintage clothing and antiques that have been destroyed. To be honest, there's not a lot anyone can do as many traders did not have insurance. But please keep visiting the area: they will all hopefully rise again, and when they do, they need YOUR support!

Alright maybe im to synical and suspicious for my own good.

Large coreperations and the council have been trying to force small buisnesses out of camden for over a year now.

Im sure it was an arsen attack insighted by someone with the means to cover there tracks.

Please if your going down to the capital for a valentines break or performance this fourtnight.

I nearly ended up in tears when i saw the full extent of the fire, im coming up to camden in 2 weeks for my birthday and its really put a downer on it, will stilll be there supporting whats left of it though.

Im dreading that developers will see this as paving the way for shitty new developments that can be found all over london and the uk.

Fingers crossed that they will be able to get back on there feet again but no amount of insurance will bring back the vintage clothing, antiques and one off pieces.
I'll be there in 2 weeks putting as much money as i can probably not afford into the small business.

Sadly this was also my first thought. It has happened in Glasgow many times when the council can’t get planning there is often a mysterious fire resulting in the building being deemed structurally unsound and pulled down.

I hope that Camden can prevail and that this makes people all over the country realise how important it is to support small businesses where possible

Ah, gotta love the Winehouse! I found an Amy Winehouse costume set on eBay a while ago-it consisted of a yellow sundress, beehive wig, pack of rub-on tatoos and a bag of talcum powder!

I'm so sad about the fire. I meant to pop down there two weeks ago and got sidetracked. It's got a special place in my heart that place, I wish there was something more we could do.
