Default Christmas for Non-Christians

I've noticed that quite a few of the people on this forum are Jewish, and thus, like myself, don't celebrate the Christian aspect of Cristmas. But what do you guys do? I know the Jewish religion has it's own festival, which I'm not even going to try and spell, but I'm wondering what you actually do on Christmas Day. If anyone is of another aternative religion I'd also be curious to knwo what you do.

From my perspective as a Satnist, I enjoy the indulgent side of Christmas. I get presents, I get to see my wife and step children open their gifts and then we all eat far too much chocolate and Christmas dinner. Then we watch the Xmas ediion of Doctor Who.

Anyway, seasons greetings to one and all, and may your day have been what you wanted it to be.

I live in an atheist household so we tend to just chill and enjoy each others company and gifts-no big fuss or family nonsense. It’s really nice to have a day where you don’t have to do anything…and if we get bored we can always head into town in the early hours to taunt the punters who have camped out for the 5am Next sale!

I'm Pagan, my father and brother are very very athiest and my mother is Christian in a loose sort of way. We have a very traditional Christmas, we just don't think much about the Christian aspects of the whole thing.

I love Christmas, and I love how we do it at home. I celebrate Yule (the Pagan Midwinter festival) in my own little way, lighting candles and praying and so on, but I tend to think of Christmas itself as more of a festival of family, as it's really the only time when I see most of my extended family, who unlike most people, I actually like, and enjoy seeing at Christmas!

We've had a really lovely Christmas this year, it's just been the four of us, very quiet and my mother has, very unusually, not been stressed out about the whole thing, which has made it all much more enjoyable. We have more family coming tomorrow though, so it won't last!

Neither me nor my mother are christian, but my grandparents are very religious. Every christmas eve we go to christingle and I actually love it- but mainly because it's just a family tradition and I know christmas is near. It's the one time I go to church.
