Movers and Shakers! 28th November

Hi Folks,

As has been mentioned, we are indeed having a Movers and Shakers at The Met Bar, London next Wednesday, 28th November.

As with all Met Bar events, you need to apply to be on the guest list as the event is private and .......... FREE!

Dusty Limits will be hosting (but of course) and guest performing we have the legendary Vicky Butterfly and our latest discovered diva - Ms Sam Chara.... a whacky Transylvannian Siren - with Pow!

Treading the boards of Movers and Shakers, we are proud to have...... (drum roll....) Angel La Vey, Miss Pearlie Gates nd Kitten Kapers plus others TBC

Anyone not already listed above who is wishing to join us for a turn on the stage should drop me an email directly - kittie[at]ministryofburlesque[dot]com or pm me via the forums asap to confirm! Tell me who you are and what your act is and attach any relevant images you have too.

Anyone who has previously contacted me with an interest in performing with us (but have yet to make it to an event or arrange a performing time) should also contact me via pm or email to perform at this forthcoming one too.

Flip! A free event which features established acts like Dusty Limits and Vicky Butterfly. Add to that up and comers like Angel LaVey and Kitten Kapers... why do I live in the wretched virtual wasteland of Burlesque, Birmingham! And I'm afraid I have to look after the kids so I can't come watch even if I had the cash to travel down to London.

What times the show? i have my trapeze lesson that night but would love to try and come after. Please excuse me if I'm out of breath and still wearing leg warmers when i arrive!

Movers and Shakers now also has the pleasure of Heather Sweet treading the boards.

No, not Dita!

Yes... the UKs most travelled Burlesque fan, promoter of Sweet Burlesque and actual performer as well... that Heather Sweet.

She has performed under the name of Fanny Kisses for those who love trivia. I thought that name was very rude and even more funny.

I'm just putting off having to wash up and then go back to reading 'Gestalt Counselling in Action' for my Counselling course book citique...

Hmmm... how about a Movers and Shakers in the Midlands, maybe in a city like Birmingham....

.... or any type of MoB Burlesque event in Birmingham...

... hint hint...

... yes, I'm still putting off that book critique. :|

Well folks, I'm absolutely bricking it about this event, and my sudden bout of stress migraines isn't helping. At most performances I do something goes wrong, so let's hope this is it and it's out of the way before I get there! Anyone coming along to support us all?

Poor Fleur - if you have problems with migraines then try Imagram which can be brought over the counter at any good Chemist. Take one tablet as soon as you feel a migraine coming or asap and then take another if it hasn't eased after an hour. Of course, if your migraine is stress related then medication may not work, you may have to look for and try some relaxation techniques.

As for acts going wrong - a very wise and talented woman told my dear wife that when things go wrong, and they will at some point, the best thing to do is think on your feet and work it into your routine if at all possible, but if you can't then remember those infamous 5 words "the show must go on".

To all the performers at Movers and Shakers tomorrow night, as Dita said to my wife yesterday - break a nail.

Hi Gehenna, thanks for the advice. I usually take Migraleve for the migraines but I've run out, so I may well move onto Imigran as it's supposed to be better. But since the migraine is already here it looks like it's here to stay ...

I'm pretty good at improvising and keeping the show going once I'm doing it, but everything seems to go wrong beforehand, like I'll forget a vital piece of costume or something. You watch, tomorrow I'll get off the train at London and realise I left my fans at home ...
